New CIS Scanner Design Triples Speed
Wuppertal, Germany - March 3, 2014 - Image Access introduces two new wide format scanners, a 36” (915mm) and a 48” (1220mm) model. A built in 64bit Linux PC and new, custom designed CIS modules make them the fastest CIS scanners on the market.
Based on the successful WideTEK® 36C and 48C models with their unique “all metal paper path”, the new scanner models feature many improvements such as a built in 64bit Linux running on an Intel i3 processor, 8GBytes of memory for extremely long scans and custom designed CIS modules. The new WideTEK 36C-600 and the WideTEK 48C-600 scan at speeds of 10” (254mm) per second at all resolutions up to 300dpi in full color, nearly three times faster than the next competitor.
WideTEK scanners do not need a PC to operate; they can scan directly to network resources like SMB shares, FTP, hot folders, the Cloud and more. The user can operate the scanners via the built in touchscreen or even wireless, using the Scan2PAD® option.
The new scanners will start shipping in April 2014 and will sell for the same price as the current models.
